Paul Kennett's original Karapoti was a 38k route from the Akatarawa Road Summit,
over private farmland and forestry to the Akatarawa State Forest where it joined the current Karapoti course at the Rock Garden,
then followed the current course to finish back at Karapoti Park.

This is a once only chance to sample mountain bike history, not to mention some great riding on tracks that are otherwise closed to the public.

Race Start - Sunday March 7 - 10:00am
Race Briefing - 9:45am
Start Line - Akatarawa Saddle at Top of Akatarawa Rd (approx 15k past Karapoti Pk)
Finish - Karapoti Park
Expected finish range - approx 1hr 45min to 4:00hrs.
